Great visit today from: BARNSLEY FOOTBALL CLUB
And it looks like (from where I was standing) that there is some very good table tennis players among them. This was a team building exercise knockout competition, and turned out to be very competitive as well as very noisy (especially from the team coach). All in all a very enjoyable event to watch and seemed to be enjoyed by all who played as well. You're welcome back anytime guys.

Great turn out at the Barnsley Championships - this year it was decided that the finals would be played on the same day.
As expected Ian Denton was in fine form taking the Mens & Veterans Singles

A great Barnsley championship occurred today with current mens singles champion Ian Denton only spectating due to a foot injury.
As predicted Darren Lindley made the final with new finalist John Race facing him - this will occur on finals night Tuesday 30th April 2013 at the YMCA. Well done to everyone who attended the competition.

It is very sad to report the death of a great former Barnsley table tennis champion, Brian Biggar.
Brian was Veterans Champion in the seasons (65/66) - (67/68) & (69/70)
I have known Brian for many years and have shared some very happy table tennis memories with him.
Brian is pictured in the Photos section of this website with some of the winning closed championship players of 1970
He will be very sadly missed

I thought it was about time that everybody (with a interest) had the opportunity to see some history, stats, photo's & video of the Barnsley & District Table Tennis Association. An invitation is hearby thrown open to all persons having information, photos, clippings, video, in fact anything you deem interesting regarding table tennis in Barnsley over the last 80 years.
